This Amex Aeroplan Business Reserve is basically built for people who fly Air Canada a lot. The value isn’t really in everyday groceries or random spending, it’s when you’re actually traveling. You get better Aeroplan earning on Air Canada related purchases, plus lounge access, a NEXUS credit, and solid travel protections, so it can make business trips feel way smoother. That said, it’s not a no brainer for everyone. The annual fee is CAD $599, and approval can be tougher. If you only fly a couple times a year or you don’t mainly use Air Canada, it’s pretty easy to not fully break even. My take: if you’re a frequent Air Canada flyer and you want the full “business travel setup” in one card, it makes sense. If you travel occasionally, you’ll probably get better value from something cheaper and more flexible.
